Russia will lose $240 billion in a year – Glazyev
The amount that Russian enterprises will withdraw from the country in dollars is estimated at 240 billion.
Economist, former adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergei Glazyev said this on air on the Tsargrad TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Glazyev, the Central Bank is to blame for this, as it lifted the ban on the sale of foreign currency earnings abroad.
“At the direction of the head of state, at that dramatic moment they introduced 100% sale of foreign currency earnings and the ruble immediately rose. Then they quietly abolished compulsory sales, and then they told exporters: “We don’t need your money, keep your money abroad.” And they said that this year, in addition to the fact that they put more than 300 billion under arrest, this year they declared another 240 billion for the export of capital.
And no one even reproached them for this, which surprises me. The central bank says: “$240 billion will be taken out of the country this year.” Well, they're taking it out. 150 billion have already been taken out. That is, the West is at war with us, and the Central Bank allows our enterprises to pay off their obligations to Western creditors. So, for these purposes, to repay the obligations of Russian borrowers to Western creditors, 150 billion have already been spent from Russia. And they are pushing the remaining 100 billion of the positive trade balance out of the country, telling exporters: “We don’t need your money,” Glazyev said.
