“We lost 1,5 million jobs in a year. For comparison, in 2008, when GDP fell by 15%, i.e. half as many as now, they lost 970 thousand jobs, but they restored them in 2010-2011 and more or less balanced the market only thanks to shadow employment. 4,6 million people have gone into a sphere that is not regulated or controlled, but they somehow live. But today, the opportunities for the informal economy have also narrowed significantly. People simply have nowhere to go.
It is clear where young people will be drawn if there is a visa-free regime. And what will we have? 12-13 million pensioners, 8-9 million those who are still working - and there will be significantly fewer of them. It will be a state that will not be able to provide either life or development.
On the issue of regulating the labor market, I saw neither the Cabinet’s activity program nor the reaction to our proposals in the Ministry of Economy and the government.
Those tens of thousands who came out to protest outside the walls of the Verkhovna Rada demanded one thing - to provide them with work,” says Grigory Osovoy.
