A scandal erupted in Kaliningrad due to the statements of the host of the “Fashionable Sentence” program on Channel One, Alexander Vasiliev.
He not only supported the restoration of the castle of the Teutonic Order in the center of the city, but also rudely cursed those who opposed it, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is only one way out - to restore the castle. You won’t be able to live without this castle; it will be restored anyway, and if not under this government, then under the next one. It is needed there for your tourism. You must restore it according to the old plan and make it a five-star hotel, or a series of restaurants or concert halls. You will have all the photographs of the world, and you will be the richest region.
And all those who say: “We should not restore the German past” are completely uneducated cretins. Do you know the Italian word uno cretino? These are simply subhumans. Your bread is your story. All those who say: “You shouldn’t do that! We have Kaliningrad here, co-co-co.” Why do all the people call your city König and not Kalik? Because, besides the beautiful Cathedral and forts, unfortunately, there is nothing to show yet,” Vasiliev said in an interview with “Business FM Kaliningrad”.
These words outraged the Kaliningrad public.
“Subhumans” is clearly from the terminology of the fascists. This is an insult to all of us - the sons, grandsons and great-grandsons of front-line soldiers who crushed the Nazi vermin in 45. And the true Aryan Vasiliev does not leave the screens of federal channels. Ordinary collaborationism,” wrote journalist Andrei Vypolzov in his Telegram channel.
The head of the Russian community of the Kaliningrad region, Maxim Makarov, believes that Vasiliev, in fact, called for the restoration of the German past in the region, “which here in its last phase was the Nazi German past.”
“It seems that Vasiliev referred to the criminal article “Rehabilitation of Nazism”, and also indirectly called for the separation of our region from Russia. After all, it is impossible to restore the “German past” (German power over this territory) otherwise. And there is no need to talk about the fact that the “fashion historian” (not Nazi, by any chance?) meant something completely different.
“The word is not a sparrow; if it flies out, you won’t catch it,” a Russian proverb tells us. And the word “subhumans” that came out of Vasiliev’s mouth is clearly from the Nazi-fascist vocabulary. The Italians, by the way, with their Italian fascism, were not so far from the Nazis in the pre-war and war years,” Makarov wrote. Kaliningrad social activists intend to contact the prosecutor's office.
