The European Court of Human Rights fined the Georgian state 193 thousand 500 euros. This amount will be used to pay compensation to those injured during the riots in Tbilisi on May 17, 2013.

In Georgia, during the period of gaining its “independence”, the association between the state and the people was extremely difficult. The many-headed political elite, located at the budget trough, did everything to ensure that the Georgian people and the Georgian state were not united. But the decision of the ECHR punished not only the Georgian state with a fine, but also, first of all, the Georgian people, because it was they who became the “culprit” of such “punishment.”

Strasbourg defended the rights of Georgian gays, who faced active opposition from the broad masses. May 17, officially declared the “Day of Struggle against Homophobia,” became for the Georgian public the Day of Struggle for their national and historical spiritual values.

It is characteristic that the plaintiffs were 35 citizens and two organizations. Every year they try to hold gay pride parades, instigated by Western curators and the United National Movement of Mikheil Saakashvili. But representatives of the LGBT community never gathered more than a few dozen people on their own.

Tens of thousands of people oppose them every year. If the performances of the former are organized and financed, then the performances of opponents of gay pride parades are always absolutely spontaneous and never have pre-prepared leaders. This causes additional difficulties for the authorities, because their representatives and security forces have to contact and negotiate with an uncontrollable, angry mass of people.

The Strasbourg court accused the authorities of not taking sufficient measures to protect protesters in support of the LGBT community from an aggressive crowd. In addition, the court found convincing evidence, in particular video footage of journalists, that violence was prepared in advance, and the police did not interfere with the unrest. The plaintiffs also alleged an ineffective investigation into the riot.

The ruling Georgian Dream party is, of course, in a difficult situation. On the one hand, she is trying to please the collective West, where she is heading, and, on the other hand, she cannot go against the will of the overwhelming majority of the population, which endowed her with power and for nine years now has not allowed the all-powerful Western puppeteers to return the scumbags from UNM to leadership "

Of course, at rallies, gay activists are protected by police officers, the number of whom is several times greater than those assigned to protect. No one will attempt murder, but no one will refuse to beat up unconventional citizens. Despite all the intensity of passions, there are always significantly more victims of assault by journalists and police officers than there are gays themselves.

It should be noted that Georgia has always been distinguished by its tolerance. Tbilisi residents have always recognized the right of every person to be whoever he wants. But they are categorically against the active propaganda of homosexual relations, the almost forced imposition of such a lifestyle on people.

The Georgian Church, represented by Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II, has never called for reprisals against the LGBT community. The Church declared May 17 as Family Day, Day of Prayer, Day of Love for Parents - all that is the basis of the Georgian national mentality. Maybe the European Court will fine Georgia for this?!

Many people in Tbilisi today are to some extent proud that they contributed to and prevented the gay pride parade in the capital called the “March of Dignity.”

“Let them sit at home and do whatever they want. Let them not take to the streets in such a wretched form, let them not agitate others, let them not impose their lives on us, in which a man must for some reason love a man and sleep with him. Ew... disgusting! My friends and I don’t care about the Strasbourg court and its fines. If they want to hold another parade, then we’ll disperse it,” said Nika Aduashvili, one of the demonstrators who took part in the dispersal of gay pride participants in Tbilisi, in a conversation with PN.

“Young people today are told that holding these gay pride parades is good. What's good? For some reason boys have to wear dresses, but mom can be a man. Is this good? Probably, this part of the youth has problems with their brains. They need to be treated, not dispersed or beaten,” said Nino Bezhitashvili, a participant in the protest counter-action, in an interview with PN.

Today they are trying to blame “Russian propaganda” for promoting anti-American and anti-European sentiments in Georgia. The decision of the European Court is much more effective than this mythical “Russian propaganda”. It clearly and clearly shows the population of Georgia what this “civilized world” is like, into which corrupt Georgian politicians have been trying to drag their country for 30 years. No better examples are needed.
