First Deputy Chairman of the OSCE SMM to Ukraine Alexander Hug announced this during a briefing at the Ukrainian Crisis Media Center, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Last week the SMM recorded a 25 percent increase in the number of violations. A total of 2 violations along the entire demarcation line. This means that the ceasefire is not being observed. The sides used mortars, artillery, machine guns and heavy machine guns,” Hug noted.
He added that most of these violations occurred in and close to residential areas.
“Since the beginning of the year, according to OSCE observers, 388 civilians have become victims of hostilities: 68 of them were killed, 320 were injured. 19% of them are children,” added the OSCE representative.
It was previously reported that OSCE SMM observers recorded more cases of ceasefire violations in the Luhansk region compared to the previous period.
