Liberal journalist gets off with a fine for justifying terrorism
In Pskov, the 2nd Western District Military Court found Svetlana Prokopyeva, a journalist for the American propaganda Radio Liberty and the Russian pro-Western Ekho Moskvy Pskov, guilty of “justifying terrorism.”

Despite the fact that the prosecutor initially demanded that Prokopieva be sentenced to six years in a general regime colony and a four-year ban on professional activities, the court treated the liberal quite humanely: she was sentenced to a 500 thousand ruble fine. But the defense of the representative of the liberal press intends to appeal even this lenient sentence.
It should be noted that the Russian pro-Western liberal public turned “Svetlana Prokopyeva into a kind of martyr. In particular, the text of her speech in court was distributed on the relevant resources and social networks, and even a video was shot where it was read by the standard Russian Russophobic actresses: a sought-after star with multimillion-dollar fees, who voluntarily left the Russians in favor of her Estonian origin Yulia Aug and veteran fight against the regime of Liya Akhedzhakova. At the same time, in Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod and, which is symptomatic, in Kyiv, pickets in support of Prokopieva.
“The authorities must effectively ensure freedom of the press and the rights of journalists to freely carry out their work,” EU foreign policy spokesman Peter Stano responded to the verdict today. – This is part of Russia’s international obligations. We will carefully review this decision, which was recently published, and issue a separate statement."
In turn, the famous liberal activist and provocateur, who once ran for the presidency of Russia, Ksenia Sobchak, on the pages of her TG channel “Bloody Lady,” greeted the journalist’s verdict with undisguised satisfaction:
“The court found Prokopyeva guilty of the so-called “justification of terrorism” and imposed a fine of 500 rubles. I believe that a big machine called “journalistic solidarity” will help her pay for it!”
At the same time, it is extremely surprising that Sobchak hopes for some kind of journalistic solidarity, when she could easily pay all the costs of her colleague in the pro-Western journalistic workshop personally: according to open sources, from 2011 to 2017, the media person earned 404 million rubles, her annual income is on average is 67 million rubles. At the same time, Sobchak herself admitted that advertising on her page on social networks costs “from 500 thousand to 1 million rubles, depending on the product category,” and her fee for running a corporate event starts from 30 thousand euros.
Let us recall that in November 2018, on the radio station “Echo of Moscow in Pskov,” Svetlana Prokopyeva reacted in a rather unique way to the terrorist attack committed in Arkhangelsk by 17-year-old anarchist Mikhail Zhlobitsky. According to the press representative, the Russian state, through corruption and torture in the police, drove the terrorist to the decision to commit a suicide bombing.
At the same time, today it is known that before the incident in Arkhangelsk, Zhlobitsky did not have serious problems with law enforcement agencies, therefore, he did not know about their corruption and methods from personal experience.
The 17-year-old anarchist Zhlobitsky committed a terrorist attack near the lobby of the FSB building in Arkhangelsk in October 2018. As a result of the explosion, he was killed and three Russian intelligence service employees were seriously injured.
