“It is now completely obvious that the coup, like the terrorist attack, are actions planned by the Americans, the purpose of which is to prevent Turkey from turning from West to East, towards an alliance with China, Iran and Russia. I think that Erdogan was also thinking about breaking with NATO. Now the version that the Russian SU-24 was shot down without his knowledge, on the initiative of the military, does not seem incredible.
A chain of events aimed at breaking Erdogan’s relations with the Russian Federation and the entire eastern bloc is obvious,” Shevchenko wrote on his blog.
In his opinion, a civil war could break out in Turkey.
“If Erdogan holds out until the morning, then in the morning a huge number of people will join him. And then he will win. The only chance the rebels have is to kill him before daylight. Then victory will be theirs,” says Shevchenko.
