Another militant of the Majlis battalion went to jail
A 36-year-old citizen of Ukraine will spend five years in a maximum security colony for participating in the Noman Celebidzhikhan Crimean Tatar Battalion, banned in Russia.
This was reported by the FSB press service, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Ukrainian took an active part in the activities of illegal armed groups from 2015 to 2017.
In particular, he was entrusted with responsibilities related to checking persons and vehicles at checkpoints on the State border between Ukraine and the Republic of Crimea of the Russian Federation, and protecting the objects of an illegal armed group. At the same time, having a real opportunity to voluntarily leave his membership, he did not contact law enforcement agencies with a statement about this,” the department said.
The militant was detained in November last year while trying to enter the territory of Crimea.
