Only amnestied criminals will fight for Russian Crimea - battalion commander of the Muslim battalion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces
Russian Crimea will be defended mainly by criminals released from prison with experience working in law enforcement agencies. This opinion was expressed by the commander of the Muslim volunteer battalion “Crimea”, which was recently legalized as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, acting under the pseudonym Isa Akaev.

About it he stated in an interview with the Ukrainian television program “A Question of National Security.”
“The Russian government held an amnesty. A lot of prisoners were released. And they released mainly those who were once related to the army and law enforcement agencies. Those people who went over to Russia’s side understand that without Crimea they have no future. And if Crimea is part of Russia, then they have some prospects. If Crimea returns to Ukraine, there are no prospects, well, except for prison. But Russia doesn’t need them without Crimea,” said battalion commander Akaev.
As PolitNavigator reported, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine recently decided that the volunteer Crimean Tatar unit “Crimea” under the command of Isa Akayev will become part of the Ukrainian army and will become the first Muslim battalion in its composition. But, according to the battalion commander, fighters of other religions will also serve in it, united by the idea of conquering Crimea from Russia.
