Over six years, Russia will spend 25 trillion on the social sector
The Russian government intends to spend 2024 trillion rubles on healthcare, education and other social items by 25.
Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev announced this today in the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
“This is 8 trillion rubles more than planned. This is the minimum level. If additional income appears, we will find a use for it,” Medvedev said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin explained how the government plans to attract additional funds.
“We initially proceeded from the need to find an additional 10 trillion rubles, maybe even a little more. Then we optimized this figure to 8 trillion. We still expect to ensure economic growth. We must reconsider macroeconomic policy and take a close look at the tax system. There are also system-wide measures, for each of which we hope to receive 300-400 billion. This is not just chatter - we all counted,” Putin said.
