Well-known Ukrainian political expert Kost Bondarenko complained about unhealthy interest in himself on the part of Western media. According to the political scientist, he had never experienced such attention to himself before. According to Bondarenko, the reason for this interest is his work together with American political strategist Paul Manafort in a number of Ukrainian election campaigns.

About this Kost Bondarenko wrote on his page on the social network.

“Lately I had to become a famous manafort expert. For at least a month, journalists from the Associated Press, The Times, The New York Times, the BBC, Radio Liberty and a dozen other media outlets called me asking me to talk about Paul Manafort and his work in Ukraine. It didn't look much like an interview. It looked more like an interrogation, with questions in a circle, with an attempt to catch on details and inconsistencies. One journalist made a mistake: “You say that the last time you saw Manafort was in 2010, and earlier you said that in 2014” - “Sorry, but we didn’t talk about this.” - “A week ago you said this in a conversation with my colleague at publication N.” - “But this publication did not post its comments” - “Yes, but my British colleague decided to share information with me..”, the “journalist”, whose name I could not find among the editorial materials, was embarrassed. “You mentioned Mr. X working with Manafort...” - “I didn’t mention Mr. X.” “Oh, excuse me... What can you say about Mr. X?” writes the Ukrainian political expert on his page on the social network.

Let us remember that Paul Manafort is a well-known American political strategist whom Rinat Akhmetov recruited to work on Viktor Yanukovych’s election campaigns in the mid-XNUMXs. Manafort is now Donald Trump's campaign chairman, which has made him the target of accusations from Hillary Clinton supporters of receiving money from the corrupt Ukrainian regime. The American media is now full of these accusations. Also among Paul Manafort’s Ukrainian clients is the former head of Yanukovych’s administration, Sergei Levochkin.

Paul Manafort.

According to Bondarenko, “interviews” in this style have become a habit for him.

Before calls like: “I represent publication Z. I want to meet with you in Kyiv and talk about Paul Manafort” - “Currently I am in Frankfurt am Main” - “Oh, that’s not a problem, I can come to Frankfurt! ” (I can imagine an editorial office that forces its journalist to wander around the world in search of some Bondarenko, who crossed paths with Manafort several times in his life).

“Can you tell us about Manafort’s habits? About his passion? Where did he live in Kyiv? Where did he have dinner? Who did you meet? Do you know about the facts of the use of prostitutes? What was his fee?” - “Sorry, I don’t know any of this, I had exclusively business relations with him. And what does this have to do with the stated topic of conversation? You were interested in Manafort’s style and working methods as a technologist?” “We are generally interested in how American technologists behave in Ukraine, with Ukrainian clients.” – “Then let me tell you about John Podesta” (John Podesta is the head of Hillary Clinton’s election campaign, and also worked with many Ukrainian politicians). “No, we are not interested in Podesta... So you don’t know if Manafort met with prostitutes?” Kost Bondarenko continues to say.

According to him, such a surge of interest in his person in connection with Paul Manafort coincided with the appearance in the Western press of a mass of “revelatory” materials about the current head of Donald Trump’s campaign.

“In a word, I mean that since yesterday “terrible” “revelatory” materials about Manafort began to appear. And when they tell me that there are no “jeans” in the West, I have every reason to doubt it. Now they have “dug up” one thing: a statement by the chairman of NABU that the “black accounting” of the PR contains data about the money that was allocated to Manafort, but there is neither his signature nor evidence that Manafort received this money. A very “solid” argument,” the political scientist sneers.

“Meanwhile, today information has emerged about how the money of a Ukrainian oligarch was used by the Democratic candidate. Not by the head of the candidate’s headquarters, but directly by the candidate!” Kost Bondarenko intrigues, hinting at the emerging facts of Hillary Clinton’s financing by the oligarch and son-in-law of Leonid Kuchma, Viktor Pinchuk.

“By the way, a few days ago I ignorantly dismissed the Guardian - again with the same question: “Our correspondent wants to ask you a couple of questions about Paul Manafort.” And the letter that was sent to me from a Kyiv Post journalist was also left unanswered,” the political expert concluded.

In the comments to this post by Kostya Bondarenko, users make the assumption that the political scientist was “attacked” not by real journalists, but by disguised employees of Hillary Clinton’s headquarters.

“I wonder how many of them were real journalists, and how many were representatives of the Clinton campaign “under the legend?”,” they write in Bondarenko’s comments.
