The success of the anti-Western coalition in Montenegro will be followed by a dramatic continuation
The West may accuse Russia of interfering in the parliamentary elections in Montenegro.
Political scientist Sergei Mikheev stated this on the air of the Vesti FM radio station, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We were accused of interfering in the internal affairs of Montenegro. Finally, this intervention ended in success. There is reason to celebrate. Jokes aside, but now, most likely, they will begin to say that it was the long arm of Moscow that interfered in the elections, that these were Russian hackers and all that. I don't rule it out at all. And they will say that in this regard, of course, it is impossible to complete the construction of Nord Stream 2,” Mikheev said.
In his opinion, if the Montenegrin opposition, having come to power, implements its promises of abandoning NATO and an alliance with Serbia, this will become a serious event on a European scale.
“If, indeed, such people come to power in Montenegro, then this will be a very interesting precedent, because I have not seen anything like this in the post-Soviet years. No one tried to change the pro-NATO, pro-European vector, although one must understand that the election campaign is one thing, but reality is another.
In Ukraine, the Party of Regions with Yanukovych, as soon as the elections came, they immediately remembered the Russian language and relations with Russia and promised that everything would be fine, but as soon as the elections took place, they immediately forgot about it,” Mikheev recalled.
