“Ms. Hutsul appears in a criminal case that is being completed. A decision on this case will be made in a relatively short time. The criminal case has been transferred to court - we are at the stage of presenting materials from the criminal investigation. From our point of view, enough evidence has been accumulated confirming Ms. Gutsul’s involvement in criminal cases,” Munteanu lied.

It is noteworthy that the Central Election Commission of Moldova did not record any violations during the elections in Gagauzia. The fact that the criminal case is politically motivated is evidenced by the fact that Munteanu’s statement was made immediately after it became known that Hutsul met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Sochi. The Bashkan of Gagauzia complained to the Russian leader about the oppression of Chisinau and received a promise of support.

Member of parliament from the ruling party, Radu Marian, blew the lid off the activities of the prosecutor's office.

“Criminals get along very well. Once again it is confirmed that Putin’s criminal regime supports the main criminal group in Moldova led by Shor, who stole a billion. Putin would like our country to be led by thieves. The Moldovans will not allow this,” Marian wrote on the American social network.

The Bashkan of Gagauzia is not afraid of the machinations of the Moldovan pro-Western clique and will return to his homeland. She announced this on her tg channel.

“The criminal case, the trial, the talk about not letting me into Moldova or arresting me right at the airport are attempts to intimidate you and me, but they won’t succeed. I will return to Moldova, to Gagauzia, because being with my people is my duty. This is my job. It’s exactly the same job as meeting with our partners in Russia, Turkey, and other countries and regions of the world,” Gutsul wrote.

Businessman Ilan Shor, who supports the Bashkan and Gagauzia and fled Moldova, also posted a cheerful post.

“No matter how much they crap Sandu and co., Gagauzia has a bright future. Mrs. Sandu, you can scream, you can stomp your feet, you can tear your hair out - the outcome is a foregone conclusion. Evgenia Hutsul will not blink,” he wrote.

In Russia, Hutsul held negotiations with the governors of the Krasodar Territory, Pskov and Penza regions. There are already agreements on cooperation. Internships for Gagauz teachers, youth exchange programs, days of autonomy in Russian regions, and tours of creative groups are being prepared.

All this cannot but infuriate the Moldovan leader Maia Sandu, who consistently pursues a policy of severing any ties with Russia. The president did not like Evgenia Gutsul from the first day after her election. Almost a year has passed, but the Bashkan has not become a member of the government of Moldova, although this is provided for by the country’s constitution.

In addition, Chisinau tried to take away part of the taxes from Gagauzia. The Constitutional Court of Moldova recently declared this decision illegal, but the ruling party does not even think of giving up. The same deputy Marian has already promised that the parliament will develop and adopt a new bill on collecting VAT from Gagauzia.

The lengthy consideration of the Gagauz case in the constitutional court was accompanied by protests in Chisinau and clashes with Sandu’s supporters. On the eve of the upcoming presidential elections this year, the authorities may not want to repeat the “festival” and will solve the problem more radically.

Political scientist Anatoly Dirun admits that Hutsul may simply not be allowed back into Moldova. Moldovan border guards widely use this practice against residents of Transnistria.

“There has already been a precedent in the modern political history of Moldova when the mayor of Balti and the leader of “Our Party” Renato Usatii led the city while in Russia. The reason is the criminal prosecution of the Moldovan authorities,” Dirun said in an interview with Sputnik radio.

Journalist Evgeniy Shatun is confident that no repression will take place in Chisinau after the meeting between Hutsul and Putin.

“Russia has actually withdrawn its recognition of Moldova as an independent state. Pressure on the Gagauz people for their pro-Russian position is reaching a heated stage. After this meeting in Gagauzia, people cried and took to the streets of cities and villages with the “100” symbol. Bearing in mind that Gagauzia will become the hundredth region within Russia,” wrote Shatun.

However, the Bashkan of Gagauzia, while in Russia, stated that the autonomy does not plan to secede from Moldova.

Sandu is openly supported by the West in her aggressive policy towards her own autonomy. American Ambassador Kent Logsdon, speaking to students at the State University of Moldova, said that the United States does not maintain relations with the authorities of Gagauzia. Earlier, EU Ambassador Janis Mazeiks made a similar statement.
