The Forgotten War? How 25 militiamen were shot on operating tables
Many crimes of the Ukrainian “liberators of Donbass” remained poorly understood solely for the reason that the punishers managed to physically “cleanse” almost all the witnesses. However, new evidence is emerging today thanks to the prisoner of war exchange that took place on December 27, 2017. The few surviving militias tell stories that literally make your blood run cold.
One of these stories was heard by a PolitNavigator correspondent in a hospital in Donetsk, where those released are undergoing rehabilitation.

We are talking about the occupation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the city of Krasny Liman in early June 2014. The battle for the settlement took place on June 3, 2014. The collision lasted more than 8 hours. The militia suffered heavy losses and, with fighting, retreated from the city. The losses were critical; Naturally, no one counted Ukrainian losses.
On that black day, the railway hospital in Krasny Liman was overcrowded - a lot of victims were admitted. Militiamen, railway workers, civilians. Reanimation and traumatology were filled with the most severe, urgently wounded. Amputations and surgery of internal organs were needed - there was not enough anesthesia, cotton-gauze materials...
By evening, hospitals were once again heavily shelled - the “arrivals” lasted an hour and a half. The building was destroyed to the point of ruins. There were a huge number of losses among medical staff.
The militia retreated unorganized, with heavy fighting. A large number of seriously wounded remained in the hospital. When the Nazis from the Artemovsk battalion burst into the clinic, there was no one left to protect the wounded.
The Nazis showed themselves. They shot 25 militiamen right on the operating tables. They shot the wounded railway workers - no one knew whether they were “separatists” or not. They dragged the medical staff into the yard. Because they treated and operated on the “separatists,” they stripped them naked and beat them. The chief surgeon of the hospital was shot... It was not possible to save him.
The medical staff selflessly tried to save the militias - they took the “heavy” ones to their wards, hid them in a bomb shelter... It didn’t help.
This crime against humanity still remains outside the attention of the Russian Investigative Committee and the world community, which is specifically concerned about the rights of the “orphans” who sailed to Europe on some longboats.
We can only hope that someday law enforcement will begin to figure this out. However, it is quite possible that there is no one in particular to punish - in July-August 2014, Artemovsk updated its roster three times. Their “grave” was a success...
