It’s time for the European Union to stop being afraid of Russia, which has no intention of conquering either the Baltic states or Poland.

About this in interview The head of the Forum for Democracy think tank, Thierry Baudet, the initiator of the referendum in the Netherlands on the issue of the EU-Ukraine association, told the Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita.
According to him, one cannot say that Russia is pursuing an aggressive international policy. He does not idealize the President of the Russian Federation, but recognizes his strengths.
“No, Putin is not a lamb, he is a strong player. But we need to stop being afraid of imperial Russia, which is supposedly going to seize the Baltic countries or Poland, the publication’s interlocutor urges. – All Moscow’s actions are defensive in nature, including on the issue of Crimea. We need strong strategic relationships with both Russia and the United States. However, after the collapse of the USSR, we began to push the boundaries of the West, which turned out to be unacceptable and unacceptable for the Russians. Even Ukrainians do not share a common opinion on this issue. All this benefits only the Americans, because they do not pay for anything, but continue to expand their spheres of influence. We Europeans are between two big political blocs, so we need to work with each of them.”
They also asked him if the Russians had tried to contact him.
“No, no, absolutely,” says Bode. – I do not act as an agent of the Kremlin and do not protect its interests. I try to analyze the geopolitical situation from the point of view of Dutch interests. If people in the Kremlin think like me, so much the better for them. However, Russia is playing an excellent game, getting everything it wants: Crimea, Donbass. And Europe? Do we really want to pay for the backward, corrupt, incredibly unstable country that is today's Ukraine? Together with her, we have now become the main losers.”
