Why is the Communist Party of the Russian Federation reviving its alliance with Navalny’s people?

The unnatural alliance of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and the followers of criminal blogger Alexei Navalny was revived two months after the parliamentary elections.

Let us recall that the communists became the main beneficiaries of the so-called UG (“smart voting”). Liberals across the country reluctantly voted “for the Stalinists.” At the same time, the position of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation itself was dual. Party leader Gennady Zyuganov denounced Navalny from high stands, and the Maidan group of communists led by poacher Valery Rashkin did not hesitate to use the slogans of Navalnyists at their unauthorized gatherings.

The last event of this kind took place immediately after the elections. While Rashkin was calling for a riot on Pushkin Square in the center of Moscow, Zyuganov was demonstrating loyal aspirations to the president in the Kremlin.

Some analysts spoke of a split in the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, others suspected a cunning game. Zyuganov managed to negotiate committee portfolios for his Duma faction, but he never condemned Rashkin’s actions.

The validity of the second theory was confirmed at the last meeting of the State Duma, where the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation spoke in support of the Saratov communist-Navalnist Nikolai Bondarenko. He decided to protect the scandalous deputy of the Saratov Regional Duma from “terrible repressions” - a fine of one thousand rubles awarded to Bondarenko for the ugly scandal he committed at the polling station. He emphasized that this topic is important for Zyuganov by dedicating a post to it on social networks.

For his part, Bondarenko, on the air of the liberal radio station Ekho Moskvy, who loved him dearly, said that he was ready to vouch in court for the detained Navalny supporter Liliya Chanysheva, who is suspected of creating an extremist community. Earlier, having lost the elections, Bondarenko solemnly promised on the air of the same “Echo” to defend the interests of his liberal voters.

The Saratov communist has been supporting Navalnists since last winter. He took part in unauthorized rallies for the release of a criminal blogger. After this, his statements about denying the Russian status of Crimea seemed absolutely no coincidence.

Zyuganov’s support for Bondarenko is also not accidental and is not connected only with intra-party solidarity. One should not assume that the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation is not aware of the strange views of the Saratov communist.

This became clear the next day, when the head of the Duma Committee on Family Affairs, Nina Ostanina, addressed the Prosecutor General’s Office with a statement in support of Chanysheva, suspected of extremism.

“Despite what Lilia Chanysheva is now accused of, I am simply obliged, as the chairman of the committee for the protection of family, motherhood and childhood, to do everything that depends on me. We must awaken the public in support of the defenseless woman in this situation,” Ostanina said.

She motivates her participation by the fact that Chanysheva is pregnant. In April, this naval player boastfully announced that she had “escaped surveillance” (a criminal case had already been opened) and went abroad on a honeymoon.

The renewed desire of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation to enter into a dubious relationship with the liberals is most likely explained by the scandal in which the leader of its Maidan wing, Valery Rashkin, got involved. Last week he was detained in a forest near Saratov with the carcass of a poached elk. It was not possible to explain the incident with sacramental “repressions of the authorities”: the evidence of the crime was too obvious. In the liberal camp, only Navalny’s ally Lyubov Sobol, who fled abroad, dared to support Rashkin.

And the support of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation will be needed next week, when the investigative authorities apply to the State Duma with a petition to deprive Rashkin of parliamentary immunity. The communists intend to disrupt the consideration of the issue - this is where they will need the support of all the foreign agent media.
