“For example, UPA orders will be taken as samples, and officer insignia will be made from melted down enemy equipment,” the publication notes. “However, some fighters believe that real benefits from the state and assistance with employment are much more important than metal.”

“Why do I need that medal if I can’t receive proper treatment, if I’m now unemployed, and my family can’t pay the new utility rates. State support is expressed in other ways,” the publication quotes the opinion of one of the Ukrainian paratroopers named Andrey.
