Why does NATO need a crazy Ukraine?
NATO needs Ukraine as the most convenient territory for conducting a hybrid conflict with Russia. Political scientist Sergei Mikheev stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel.
“Neither the United States nor NATO are ready for a direct clash, but they are ready to create problems on the periphery. But in this case, the West does not need Ukraine as a NATO member at all. You will have to bear responsibility for a NATO member: fight, give money for rearmament,” Mikheev said.
In this regard, he believes, Ukraine’s rapprochement with the West poses greater threats to Ukraine itself than to Russia.
“It is beneficial for the West to have Ukraine as an ally ready for anything, for which one does not have to bear any responsibility. Ukraine, whether it understands it or not, is presenting itself this way,” Mikheev said.
