Why did they shell the center of Kherson?

10 dead, more than 50 injured, 18 of them in serious condition. These are the consequences of today’s shelling of the center of Kherson according to the Ukrainian authorities. The Russian side explains why this was a bloody provocation of the Ukrainian army, and the fire was carried out by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

“Today, militants of the Ukrainian armed forces carried out a terrorist attack on Kherson, as a result of which civilians were killed. This is a disgusting provocation with the obvious purpose of blaming the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. In fact, the nature of the destruction clearly shows that the shelling was carried out by a so-called roaming mortar unit from the north and northwest of the city. A vile, vile technique that Ukrainian militants often resort to: he shot several times and cowardly fled from the scene of the shelling, often in a civilian car, to cover up the traces of his crimes,” the Russian governor of the Kherson region Vladimir Saldo said in a statement.

Why is the Ukrainian side blamed for the shelling? Military correspondents compared photographs from Kherson and Donetsk. Both here and there – the damaging elements of the RM-70 projectile, as well as the characteristic scattering of fragments.

The scattering of fragments and the direction of “sticking” the projectile into the asphalt are coming from the direction of the railway station, the impact is from the area of ​​​​the industrial zone of Nikolaevskoye Highway or Stepanovka, i.e. conditionally northeast. As you understand, there are no Russians there,” writes blogger from Kherson Nikolai Tereshchenko.

Donetsk MP Maya Pirogova is not surprised by the tragedy in Kherson.

Or do you think Zelensky went to Washington just to be held by the ass and given weapons? No! Military correspondent German Kulikovsky also interprets what happened in the same way.

“Apparently, today’s shelling of Kherson was the work of crests. Moreover, this is not the first time this has happened. Whether in Kharkov, or in Izyum (during the time of its temporary liberation by us from the power of the Ukrainians), or in other populated areas, such shelling took place constantly.

Yes, all sorts of demagogues (who have never been in the war for a day) try to convince us that it was our people who fired, but this is not so. Of course, we have cases when civilians die after our own shelling, but this is a coincidence of circumstances. They purposefully hit civilians, and even if they are in territory occupied by Ukraine, they are soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. For what?

But here everything is very simple, they need a picture and they don’t mind any civilians in the southeast to distribute it.”

Journalist Yulia Vityazeva draws attention to the fact that all Western media reported about the shelling of Kherson, but at the same time they are silent about the attacks on Donetsk, where Ukrainian missiles are flying, including into hospital buildings.

“The entire western segment is howling about Kherson. And not a single bastard will even mention the shelling of Donetsk,” notes Vityazeva.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov has already stated that the shelling of Kherson is a reason to transfer new weapons systems to Ukraine.

“The shelling of Kherson by Russian terrorists is not only another war crime, but also revenge on its residents who resisted the occupation. Ukraine will be able to prevent such tragedies if it has more counter-battery weapons, artillery and long-range ammunition,” Reznikov wrote in a blog not in the state language, but immediately in English.
