Why did the Ukrainian elite go to Donbass? It was possible to threaten the oligarchs in Kyiv

The next meeting of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council, as threatened at Bankova, was an off-site meeting and was held in Donbass. True, taking into account the decisions announced at the briefing following the results of this khural, it remains a mystery why the Ukrainian elite needed to travel 800 km from Kyiv to adopt them - there is nothing specifically “Donbass” on the list.

In particular, new sanctions were introduced against new smugglers. Danilov, making a brick face, read to journalists a list of three unknown names of citizens of Ukraine and Germany born in 1974 and 1984 and 24 companies affiliated (according to the Ukrainian Security Council) with them.

These are certain Alexander Ast, Valery Falkovsky and Vladislav Studinets.

As I already said, don’t rush to Google these names - you won’t find anything. In general, one gets the impression that these “smugglers” pay extra to the Ukrainian elite for their own advertising. Now the press, having learned the names mentioned, will begin to dig hard so that the country recognizes its heroes. And then: after all, it seems that the smugglers were already defeated at one of the previous meetings of the National Security and Defense Council? Or not everyone yet?

And yes, as they say in Odessa - according to Danilov, the current smugglers are not the last, so the show will be extended for the next season: “We are not going to stop, we will continue to track them. Those who continue to engage in these things will be subject to sanctions by the National Security and Defense Council.”

Undoubtedly, the highlight of the program for today's meeting was the overt threats to the very oligarchs, in relation to whom the Rada recently adopted a special law on their de-oligarchization. At that time, many thought that these were jokes. However, today the authorities hinted that they would take on the most sacred thing - assets and their redistribution. It’s just not yet clear in whose favor. Either - the transnationals looming behind the Sorosyat wing of Bankova, or in favor of the poor... excuse me - honest businessmen - friends of the most important Zelebobik of all Ukraine.

“We have 8 names that everyone knows. We will not say how they obtained this property, but in case of threat and necessity, we are preparing temporary administrations”: we are talking about the introduction of temporary administrations at energy enterprises and distribution networks owned by Akhmetov, Firtash, Lyovochkin, Novinsky, Bogolyubov, Kolomoisky, Boyko, brothers Surkis, Grigorishin and Voevodin. True, from Danilov’s words quoted above, it is not clear whether this is an exhaustive list or whether someone else will be subject to dispossession.

And only in the energy sector? After all, there are other tasty assets left: mining and processing plants there, metallurgy, chemistry, chicken production in the end (hey, Mr. Kosyuk, can you hear us?). In general, the flaw began to dance.

True, there is no certainty at all that the owners of the listed names will so disciplinedly and voluntarily hand over everything they have acquired through honest labor to the OGPU, excuse me, to the OP. There may be some hiccups along the way, so the process promises to be action-packed and fun. I can already see the announced program “Great Deoligarchization” on the Akhmetovsk channel Ukraine 24 with the presenter Yulia Mendel - with a story about how the Bankova commissioners go to the Akhmetovsk regional power plants and thermal power plants to accept business.

Zelensky hopes that with such simple blackmail they will force the oligarchs to reduce electricity tariffs for the population - it is no secret that their inevitable increase this fall is called one of the starting bells for the start of protests that could cover the entire country and risk causing a political crisis that capable of burying the Zelensky regime.

It is in this context that it is worth taking Danilov’s words that electricity tariffs will not rise. The Secretary of the Security Council modestly kept silent about heat tariffs. Maybe he's hoping for warm weather or something.

It is interesting that Kyiv political telegram channels are skeptical about Bankova’s threats to the oligarchs. In their opinion, we are talking, rather, about Zelensky and Co. raising the stakes in the “game of nerves.” The essence of the game is that since the IMF does not give money, it is necessary to extort it from the domestic rich, force them to “share”.

Quote: “This list does not yet mean anything for those about whom they said. This is still PR that the OP is ready to raise bids in the auction. Because in the fall it may be a game of survival. The second point is the continuation of the strategy to create public consciousness that the oligarchs are to blame for everything.”

All other issues discussed at the National Security and Defense Council can be said to be for show. Thus, Zelensky instructed to “put all state borders in order”; or the issue of improving medicine and vaccination - the authorities threaten to vaccinate 8 million Ukrainians per month - despite the fact that such a pace is far from being achieved in neighboring Russia, where the population also does not trust vaccinators very much, but where at least there is a state.

Some personnel changes were also announced in the management of the agricultural sector, ecology and water resources. And finally, Foreign Minister Kuleba appeared in front of journalists with stunning new news: the National Security and Defense Council approved the foreign policy strategy of Ukraine, providing for a “course towards NATO” and “countering Russian aggression.” As they say, without Kuleba they would not have known this.

And so, pray tell, why did this Caudlo go to Donbass? As a result, the smartest one turned out to be the cunning speaker of the Rada Razumkov, who simply skipped this task, citing the fact that he had a work trip planned for that day in the Nikolaev region. In fact - if you take into account yesterday's demonstrative gatherings in Odessa with Klitschko – the speaker simply does not want to once again shine in the company of Zelensky’s courtiers, which is toxic for his presidential prospects.
