Euromaidan instigator: Ukraine won the gas war, the Russians wiped themselves
New gas contract between Gazprom and Naftogaz, which must be concluded before the New Year, is a big victory for Ukraine, because without it the Nezalezhnaya GTS will turn into a pile of useless scrap metal.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy, one of the main instigators of Euromaidan “little pig” Sergei Leshchenko, who today joined the top management of Ukrzaliznytsia, stated this on his YouTube channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today, Saturday, is a historic day, because Ukraine won the gas war against Russia.
What we have is a guaranteed 60 (billion cubic meters of transit gas - approx. ed.) is already a victory. But the victory is that for another 4 years we have at least 40, which Russia promises to cover. That is, the Ukrainian gas transportation system will at least function and receive the necessary money, both for the state and for its maintenance.
The infrastructure must be maintained, otherwise it will turn into scrap metal, which can only be cut and recycled. And this is how the system functions, and Ukraine remains a transit country.
The Russians, in fact, have lost their nerve. And, if you look at the Russian media, in fact, no one there loudly comments on this story. So, somewhere Miller said that there would be such and such volumes, somewhere Kozak said. But in their Russian society they do not sell this as a great victory at all. Silently somewhere there, in the outskirts, they commented. And Ukraine said loudly: “Yes, this is our victory,” the Maidan activist noted.
Sergei Leshchenko also expressed confidence that Russia will not be able to complete the construction of Nord Stream 2.
“In America, Congress approved and President Trump signed the law on sanctions on the companies that will build Nord Stream 2. It most likely will not be completed. Perhaps someday, when the sanctions are lifted. But I don’t imagine this in the near future,” added the Russophobe.
