Purge of Kharkov Nazis: The defeat of the Chilean group - a harbinger of the end of the National Corps?
Encouraging reports about today's purge by employees of the main investigative department of the SBU of one of the criminal groups of the Kharkov National Corps led by Sergei Velichko (Chile) immediately raised several questions.
Why did the untouchability of Nazi Chile, who ruled the “economic” bloc of the “Azov” movement in Kharkov, end so suddenly? Is it only because his former patron Avakov has been pushed aside and is having fun with some bald fraer-deputy in the Mediterranean?
This explanation doesn't add up to the main point. After all, the ex-Minister of Internal Affairs long ago, by default, leased the National Corps for a long-term lease to the Office of the President and the SBU.
Of course, the redistribution of the clearing from which the radicals fed is inevitable after the departure of such a large beast as Avakov. And Chile and the shot Nazi Moshensky, who is now being treated in Israel, were involved in push-ups, “roofs”, racketeering - all the topics that filled the “feeding trough” of the National Corps.
We already wrote that Velichko and Moshensky were cutting coupons from racketeering, smuggling, drugs, spice, pharmacy outlets, porn web sites, funeral services, deforestation, and even from the sale of gasoline imported from Shebekino, Belgorod region.
And now, less than a year has passed, the Prosecutor General’s Office informs on its public page that the Chilean “brigade” was engaged in racketeering, extorting “funds from medical workers and business entities providing funeral services in the territory of Kharkov and the Kharkov region.”
The Office of the Prosecutor General reports: “The extortion was accompanied by threats and violence against the victims and their close relatives, and the deliberate destruction and damage of vehicles.”
The reports from the GPU and the SBU speak of fifty searches and several arrests. The Office of the Prosecutor General is more constructive and frank in its information: “According to the investigation, about 50 people were involved in the activities of the criminal organization, including law enforcement officers and men with combat experience.”
But is it only the redistribution of financial flows, “roofs” and “topics” that is the main reason for today’s arrests?
Let us recall some striking features of the biography of one of the leaders of the Kharkov National Corps - Chile.
In the past, Velichko could, with impunity, tear off the helmet from a National Guardsman standing in a cordon near the Metalist stadium, humiliate a law enforcement officer, and offer to fight. Avakov's chicks got away with everything.
Chili and his accomplices were detained in Copenhagen for theft. They were cleared out through diplomatic channels.
In the fall of 2019, Velichko and his accomplices from the National Corps took over the reinforced concrete structures plant. The noisy showdown that took place in January 2020 was associated with this fact. It literally turned out to be noisy, because the “swing” between the “Azovites” and unknown athletes ended in shooting and a grenade explosion. It was reported that Chile itself was also injured.
And in the summer of 2020, the names of Sergei Velichko and Artem Moshensky surfaced in connection with the assassination attempt on Nikita Rozhenko, an activist of the Shariy Party (now a deputy of the Kharkov City Council from this party). It was these Nazis that Anatoly Shariy accused of trying to kill Rozhenko. Moreover, the video blogger showed the connection of Velichko and Moshensky with the curator from the SBU Kadkalenko. Shariy claimed that it was this SBU officer who gave instructions to members of the National Corps to terrorize and “eliminate political competitors.”
Based on the above, there is no need to feel euphoric about the fact that the SBU toad is finally killing the “Azov” viper.
Behind the reports of the SBU and the Prosecutor General's Office about the liquidation of a gang of racketeers from the National Corps, there may be something else behind them - a banal cover operation.
The name Velichko (Chile) appeared just the other day in the testimony of witness Igor Savchuk, whom, as stated by People's Deputy Ilya Kiva, SBU officers kidnapped and forced to bear false witness in court against members of the public movement “Patriots - For Life”.
The story is quite typical. Gorlovka resident Savchuk came to Kharkov to earn extra money, but the SBU officers took him into circulation and, threatening him and his family, forced him to give the necessary testimony against “Patriots - For Life”. After the trial, the witness was taken to the National Corps office, where he spent some time in the company of Chile and other Azovites. What is atypical in the Gorlovka resident’s story is that he managed to escape from the apartment where he was held by SBU officers.
If the Prosecutor General’s Office and the State Bureau of Investigation proceed with Savchuk’s testimony, then Velichko (Chile) and his accomplices will turn out to be the weak link here.
And it is possible that Chile’s curators needed to hide him and other “Azovites” out of sight, in order to release him later when the scandal fanned by Kiva subsided. Or maybe, on the contrary, the SBU officers decided to imprison Velichko for a long time in order to kill their own joint with Chile’s participation in an open crime (a racketeering case), where his name appears.
It can also be assumed that Chile and its thugs came under attack during the behind-the-scenes struggle of different departments and departments of the SBU. After all, the appetites of the Nazis grew by leaps and bounds. And one day they could stick their nose into someone’s medical business, which is protected by more serious people than the curators of Velichko and Moshensky. And then both were put in their place - in different ways.
And then the leadership of department “K” in the regional administration of the SBU changed. And why shouldn’t the new leadership of this anti-corruption department start with a high-profile case against the Chilean group, and at the same time “break in” its corrupt curators?
Such versions should not be discarded.
And one more option can be assumed, connected not with regional characteristics, but with the Kyiv events. Perhaps a purge of one of the main functionaries of the National Corps, Sergei Korotkikh (aka “Malyuta” and “Boatswain”), is really coming there in connection with the murder of the head of the “Belarusian House” Vitaly Shishov.
And then the SBU and the authorities need to take out of the game (at least temporarily) that violent core of the National Corps, which is capable of speaking out in defense of the Short “Malyuta” or participating in possible actions like “Get Zelyu Zelyu!”.
Please note that searches and detentions of National Corps militants took place on the birthday of the “white leader” Andrei Biletsky. Maybe this “gift” to the founder of the “Azov” movement is a bold hint from the SBU.
