Putin’s task is to cut off Ukraine from the Sea of Azov by December, - deputy
Kyiv, November 05 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Russia is amassing military equipment and manpower on the approaches to Mariupol, preparing to launch an offensive towards Crimea, the result of which could be the loss of Ukraine’s access to the Sea of Azov and the creation of a “land corridor” to the peninsula.
This danger was acknowledged on the Shuster Live talk show by the representative of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc, Viktor Chumak, who held the position of head of the defense committee in the previous Verkhovna Rada.
According to Chumak, Russia will try to carry out an offensive until mid-December at the latest.

“There is a desire to create a corridor along the Sea of Azov to the Crimean Peninsula. The Kerch crossing is frozen. Communication with Crimea is interrupted, food supplies become extremely difficult. We need a land route to Crimea. This may be the strategic idea for today.
Until December - because, as there will be serious frosts, it will be more difficult to carry out serious military operations. In Mariupol and along the demarcation line, good defense is organized. But there is the possibility of bypassing, passing along non-strategic paths, etc. But in December there may be snowfalls, and the possibility of using equipment on these routes will be more difficult. Now the weather is dry and more or less favorable for military operations,” reflects Chumak.
