Another suspect detained in the case of blowing up a gas pipeline in Crimea
In Crimea, arrests continue in the case of sabotage on a gas pipeline, which was carried out by local residents on August 23 at the request of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
According to the Crimean Solidarity organization, which works for Western grants, tonight security forces detained a former member of the Mejlis banned in the Russian Federation, Eldar Menseitov, who lives in the village of Molodezhnoe, Simferopol district, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
There has been no official information from law enforcement agencies yet, but Crimean Solidarity believes that Menseitov’s detention is related to the gas pipeline explosion.
“According to preliminary information, the investigative actions were carried out by FSB officers and linked the detention of Menseitov with the explosion of a gas pipeline in Perevalnoye,” the report says.
It is also known about Menseitov that he was a witness in the case of the former leader of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people banned in the Russian Federation, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Mustafa Dzhemilev.
