A Russian deputy who denied the legality of reunification with Crimea was detained
Saratov communist-Navalnist Nikolai Bondarenko was detained today in the building of the regional parliament, of which he is a deputy.
“I was detained near the building of the Saratov Regional Duma, where the budget was to be considered today. The police officers, consisting of four people, used physical force on me and announced that they would detain me and take me to the police department and to court. Allegedly two months ago I committed some kind of offense. I demanded that a detention report be drawn up, called a lawyer, and now they are taking me to the department and to court. There is no more information, they don’t say anything,” Bondarenko wrote on his Instagram.
The reason for the arrest was Bondarenko’s hooligan actions at the polling station on election day. He shouted at members of the election commission and snatched documents from their hands. This is an administrative violation that provides for imprisonment.
Comrades in the Communist Party of the Russian Federation have already announced political repressions.
“The reprisal against the active part of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation continues. Bondarenko did not kill moose and did not go hunting, but he is accused of... hooliganism at the polling station,” publicist Boris Kagarlitsky is indignant.
Bondarenko is known for running his own channel on YouTube, where he posts the scandals he regularly gets involved in. He actively supported criminal blogger Alexei Navalny in the liberal media and took part in a rally in his support.
He ran for deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation in a single-mandate constituency, but lost. During the campaign denied Crimea belongs to Russia.
