This was announced by Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Evgenia Enin on the air of the 112 Ukraine TV channel.
“As we learned from the arrest warrant issued by the prosecutor’s office of the city of Pavia, which states that Mr. Markiv also has an Italian passport. At the same time, the Ukrainian authorities consider him, first of all, as a citizen of Ukraine,” he said.
Let us recall, as PolitNavigator previously reported, Italian police detained Ukrainian militant Vitaly Markiv on June 30. We are talking about a case three years ago. Markiv was suspected of murdering Italian photojournalist Andrea Rocchelli and Russian journalist Andrei Mironov in Donbass in May 2014. Now the consul is not allowed to see him because of his Italian citizenship.
