Rear-wheel drive Portnikov campaigns not to show the 2018 World Cup on Ukrainian TV
Ukrainian TV channels should refuse to show live broadcasts of matches of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in Russia.
TV propagandist Vitaly Portnikov said this during the “Saturday Political Club” program, the “PolitNavigator” correspondent reports.
“I’m not sure we should broadcast the World Cup,” he began answering a question from the studio.
“We have been deprived of a lot of things this year. I know that football is outside of politics, but I believe that Ukrainians can survive the football that takes place in the aggressor country once. You know, this is such a childish desire to have fun: let it happen anywhere, but we will go there, we want to see it and pay money to the country, which, in fact, will receive it in the budget. In the end, there are satellite TV channels, if you have a desire to watch such things, no one can prohibit you from doing so, but I believe that Ukrainian television should not provide such an opportunity,” Portnikov said.
