Propagandists of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko got into trouble by raising a cry about the phrase about the Donbass rebels from the mouth of candidate Vladimir Zelensky.

The ex-representative of the “President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea,” international lawyer Boris Babin, wrote about this on his Facebook page, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Babin drew attention to a post by user Ilona Khmeleva, where she comments on the situation with the phrase about “rebels” during the debate, which Poroshenko’s headquarters clung to, attacking the opponent with accusations of “zrada”.

“Petr Alekseevich only suggested two possible options that explain why Vladimir Aleksandrovich used the word “rebels”: 1) total dense incompetence; 2) use of Russian stamps. It is great that the Ukrainians finally received an answer from the President as to why Ukraine used the phrase “armed insurrection” in its ICJ claim. Hypocrisy in everything. And this hypocrisy, perhaps, had a greater impact on the results of the current government in the elections. And this is fair,” Khmeleva wrote.

Boris Babin in his message expressed complete solidarity with the author of the post.

“In conditions of political hysteria, it is difficult to comment on international legal matters, but I have to. Ms. Ilona Khmeleva absolutely correctly draws attention to the fact that in Ukraine’s lawsuit against the Russian Federation in the International Court of Justice, the events of Russian aggression in the East of Ukraine are referred to as ... “armed uprising.” This lawsuit was filed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and, although it was prepared by hired American lawyers, I think it would be better not only to sign it, but also to at least read it before sending it to The Hague. Of course, the term “rebels” about events in the occupied territories is politically incorrect, but at the same time it is widely used in international humanitarian law,” the lawyer wrote.

At the same time, he admitted that the politically correct term “terrorists,” in his opinion, “lacks legal support,” since Ukraine has not recognized the LDPR as terrorist organizations for five years.

“In the vast majority of cases, I consider the term “collaborators” to be absolutely correct. I will not judge what is worse - inattention to documents of this level of subordinates of the former lawyer of Priluki Tobacco (as, by the way, the very decision of the president to appoint this lawyer to the current position) or the public use of the term by a presidential candidate,” Babin concluded.
