Silence the enemy. Russia conducted unique exercises
The Russian military conducted exercises during which ultra-long-range electronic warfare stations were tested.
Izvestia reports this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, citing its sources in the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Exactly which systems were tested in combat are not disclosed; it is only known that electronic warfare units of the Baltic and Northern fleets at a distance of several thousand kilometers found and suppressed communication stations of a mock enemy, who, in turn, launched a retaliatory electronic strike on them.
Interlocutors familiar with the course of the exercises said that the units worked in conditions practically no different from combat ones.
“Such training of electronic warfare troops allows us to improve skills in both electronic reconnaissance systems and electronic suppression systems. In fact, during the maneuvers they operated in combat conditions - with the exception that fire weapons did not operate against the electronic warfare systems. And everything else is like in a real battle, because the radio-electronic space has no boundaries and there are no discounts,” says military expert, editor-in-chief of Arsenal of the Fatherland magazine Viktor Murakhovsky.
According to him, the achievements of Russian developers in recent years are at the world level, and in a number of parameters - even higher.
