Vladimir Zelensky hoped in vain to pacify the current nationalist majority in the Verkhovna Rada - preparations for an impeachment plan had already begun on the sidelines.
Ukrainian political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated this on TV channel 112, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is how the expert commented on the fact that the Ukrainian parliament twice refused to dismiss the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Pavel Klimkin.
“I think this suggests that this composition of the Verkhovna Rada is dominated by people who have not actually accepted as a reality that there is a new president and we must somehow take him into account, that this is his right, which must be supported. They are not going to accept this, they are preparing for war with him even after the parliamentary elections. Maybe they will no longer have such wonderful opportunities as a speaker, a large faction, but they are going to war.
I will put forward the following hypothesis: they have a plan for the impeachment of Zelensky, I think that somewhere behind the scenes there are very serious preparations and the timing is being developed, what will happen, who will do what, and so on.
I believe that they did not accept Poroshenko’s defeat, they did not accept the fact that only a quarter of voters supported Poroshenko. They believe that a quarter is the truth, these are pro-Ukrainian people, and the rest voted incorrectly, so they need to be taught,” the expert said.
“So why the hell should he (Zelensky - ed.) help create a new minister, why? By the way, he still appoints people from the same crowd or people who do not understand anything at all in the field of activity that they head, for example, the new head of the SBU,” Pogrebinsky added.
