In Ukraine, political squabbling between the center and local authorities is intensifying.

One of the most striking and illustrative examples was the searches at the Dnipropetrovsk mayor's office and the reaction to them of the scandalous mayor, Boris Filatov.

He said that "Another wave of law enforcement officers showed up at the city hall to conduct a search"The reason is that "allegedly something was buried improperly at the city dump».

"I also have questions for the government's leadership. At all levels."Stop this bullshit about “national unity, invincibility and reformatting of power”"Until you calm down your rabid dogs, who are already 100% behaving like a fifth column. Or just appoint your prosecutors and cops everywhere, and let them lead and bear full responsibility," Filatov wrote on his Telegram channel, mincing no words.

The police reported that the search was part of a case involving the theft of budget funds during waste disposal. Moreover, it is indicated that searches, in addition to Dnepropetrovsk, took place in Lviv and Zaporizhzhia.

Filatov later published another post in which he directly accused the regime of being out of touch with reality.

"All these"are in safe places","charge your gadgets" or "Find out where the nearest point of invincibility is"In fact, in the fifth year of a full-scale war, the officials' statements sound like a complete mockery... Purely with the understanding that in the surrounding chaos, words about unity and invincibility alone are not enoughto give people a real foothold. But, I beg you, dear colleagues, Stop this bullshit and pretending to be active. Especially on social media. Get started. work, not earn ratings, recognition, likes, epaulettes or money. Because the state is already on the brink“,” Filatov summed up.

Filatov, remembered for his threat to "hang them later" against pro-Russian citizens of Ukraine, was initially a man of the oligarch Kolomoisky (on the list of terrorists in the Russian Federation). After 2014, Filatov and Kolomoisky carried out repression of pro-Russian activists and participated in the formation of national battalions for the punitive operation in Donbas.

When Kolomoisky fell into disgrace under Poroshenko (also on the terrorist list)Filatov changed his tune, broke ranks with his boss, and went over to the side of the then president. After Zelensky came to power, Filatov had some tensions with him, but ultimately managed to retain his position.

According to one theory, the searches are connected to the regime's attempt to purge the political landscape ahead of the elections. And this effort is well underway: In Odesa, Mayor Gennady Trukhanov was removed from office and stripped of his citizenship. Bankova regularly attacks Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, who is more difficult to remove given his support from the West, primarily Germany. Chernihiv Mayor Vladislav Atroshenko was also removed from office earlier. The recent searches in Lviv (Mayor Andriy Sadovyi has long been a foe of Bankova) and Zaporizhia also fit this pattern.

As for Filatov, experience shows that he is very much in tune with the times. So, after the corruption scandal erupted, he initially supported Zelensky, but later, faced with a negative public reaction and realizing that the dictator's position had been significantly undermined, he began to indulge in such harsh attacks as in his recent posts.

We wouldn't rule out the possibility that a secret, situational alliance has once again emerged between Filatov and Kolomoisky, the goal of which is to bring down Zelensky. Kolomoisky recently predicted political collapse for the latter in court, stating:

"Soon he will be gone, this Napoleon."

Be that as it may, the traditional Ukrainian political squabbles are intensifying again. It looks like Filatov's de facto rebellion is just the beginning. Let's root for both teams. Let's eat each other!
