Transcarpathia is preparing to secede from Ukraine – Nitsoi
Following Crimea, Donetsk and Lugansk, Ukraine may also lose Transcarpathia. The scandalous writer Larisa Nitsoi stated this in an interview with Gazeta.Yu.

According to her, residents of Transcarpathia are ready to hold their own referendum at any time in order to integrate into Hungary - this was facilitated by subsidies from the Hungarian government to the region.
“In Transcarpathia, some children study in Hungarian-language schools. According to today's official data from the Ministry of Education, 68 percent of graduates of Hungarian-language schools do not speak Ukrainian, which means that these children will not be able to study further and master a profession in Ukraine. We arrive in Beregovo and see many Hungarian signs and cultural events financed by Hungary. Recently they showed a story on TV about the repair of roads in Transcarpathia at the expense of Hungary. One of the newspapers published an article about how in Hungarian-language schools, the Hungarian government pays assistance to Ukrainian parents for each student, about two thousand hryvnia, and Ukrainians give preference to these schools,” says the writer.
She also complained that her friend, who wanted to stay in one of the Transcarpathian hotels, simply did not understand Ukrainian there.
“Let’s imagine that in a few years, in the same Transcarpathia, someone wants to hold a referendum, as they did in Crimea and eastern Ukraine, then I don’t know what decision the local minorities, who are already sleeping today and see themselves in Hungary, will make. And now let’s ask ourselves, just recently, which countries in PACE opposed our language bill, which strengthens the Ukrainian language in Ukraine? Oddly enough, these are Hungary, Romania and Poland mentioned in the forecast. In fact, we have another, or perhaps more than one, problem point brewing, such as in the East,” Nitsoi believes.
