Transcarpathia asks Budapest for help, which Kyiv is unable to provide
A huge landfill on the banks of the Tisa River in the Rakhiv district of the Transcarpathian region will be removed at the expense of Hungary, since the local authorities have no money.
This was reported by the Sirius TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The Hungarian government sent a letter demanding that the dump be removed from the river bank to local authorities, fearing that the garbage would be carried onto its territory by the current.
According to First Deputy Mayor Rakov, local authorities will only be able to “move” the landfill with bulldozers away from the river, but there is not enough money to completely eliminate it.
“The consul was there, we discussed this issue, we sent them the project of our dam. The consul promised to raise this issue in Budapest. Funding from Budapest is possible,” said Petr Bochkor.
