Transcarpathian customs detained a Mongolian working at the Austrian Embassy for attempting to smuggle cigarettes
Today, April 20, at the Luzhanka checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border, employees of the State Border Service, SBU and State Fiscal Service detained a minibus with Belarusian diplomatic license plates, completely packed with cigarettes with excise stamps.

This was reported by the Mukachevo border detachment.
“During border and customs control, the driver was noticeably nervous. After demanding to provide the vehicle for inspection, the man refused to get out and open the car. At the same time, a service dog attacked the foreign car,” the press service of the border detachment said in a statement.
The car was blocked. Representatives of the police and SBU were called to the checkpoint. As a result of the inspection, it turned out that under the guise of diplomatic mail, a Mongolian citizen tried to move a large batch of cigarettes in a Mercedes car with Belarusian diplomatic license plates. During the conversation, a Mongolian citizen said that he works at a diplomatic mission in Austria.
The detected tobacco products are now being unloaded; the quantity and amount of their assessment will be announced additionally.
