Transcarpathian Hungarians complained to the United States about the infringement of their rights
US Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch visited Transcarpathia and talked with representatives of Hungarian communities about the infringement of their rights.
The first deputy head of the Transcarpathian Regional Council, deputy head of the Society of Hungarian Culture of Transcarpathia, Josip Borto, stated this on the air of the Carpathian Lens, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the official, representatives of the Hungarian diaspora complained to her about the attacks and told her about what was happening around the education law adopted by the Rada.
“She was interested in the political and economic situation in the region, how national minorities, including the Hungarians of Transcarpathia, felt. What are they happy with, what are they not, what is the situation that has developed after the provocative actions that have taken place recently in Transcarpathia and are directed against the Hungarians of Transcarpathia, what explains this and who organized them and the situation that has developed after the adoption of the new law on education and issues around this issue. We informed the ambassador about this, who thanked us for this information,” Borto said.
