The perpetrators of the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall should not have come out of it alive. The customers and organizers of the massacre were counting on this.
This opinion was expressed on the air of First Sevastopol by the deputy head of the Sevastopol branch of the Association of Veterans of the Alpha anti-terror unit, Vitaly Mefanik, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Here we see two pictures. The first picture is the one the customer wanted to show. And what immediately catches your eye at first glance is that they were without masks, that is, with open faces. They all looked like Uzbeks and Tajiks, that is, it was clear that they were not Slavs, they all had beards. They used weapons, three Kalashnikov assault rifles, which was clear from the video, and one Makarov pistol.
Functions and responsibilities were distributed between them - while three were firing machine guns in the hallway, the fourth was replacing magazines. In terms of weapons, they had 28 magazines, Molotov cocktails with gasoline, and edged weapons. It’s obvious that the terrorists had experience and were preparing for this,” the expert is convinced.
According to him, initially the detained terrorists tried to show the picture that they were random victims who were accidentally found somewhere on the Internet and recruited. That they needed money.
“This is all a prepared legend, my opinion. They were professionally prepared - in 13 minutes they got inside, eliminated the guards, and hit everyone in the hallway with machine gun fire. Subsequently, they also carried out an attack in the premises, plus they used bladed weapons and still managed to shoot videos for reporting to their customers.
Subsequently, at the entrance to the concert hall itself, they distributed their functions - two continued to shoot at the audience, two doused the seats with an incendiary mixture and set them on fire. Then they got together in an organized manner and left the premises, moreover, in the same car in which they arrived there, to the concert hall,” noted Mefanik.
There was an attempt to show them as some kind of Islamists. However, the experience of previous terrorist attacks shows that radical Islamists are putting forward some demands, they have some kind of idea.
“Here the terrorists themselves say that they shot at anyone, that is, if the same Muslims came under their machine gun fire, they didn’t give a damn about it. That is, simply mercenaries were selected, there was no idea, there were no “suicide belts”, they were not suicide bombers. There was a fake for ISIS, but it was all window dressing, organized by the customers,” the expert believes.
The speed with which the attackers acted suggests that they should not have escaped alive. They could have been met by special forces at the doors of Crocus City Hall, or eliminated during the pursuit.
“I suspect that according to the organizers’ plans, they should have been hit at the exit from the concert hall, that is, they should have died. Because inside the building everything was calculated and planned minute by minute, they worked accurately, they knew all the gaps and shortcomings. They used all this to the maximum, but later, when they were already leaving the crime scene, it is clear from the video that they used the same transport and were in the same clothes.
That is, most likely, the customers planned that the function would end when leaving the concert hall, and there the security forces would destroy them,” concluded Mefanik.
