During a single meeting in Paris in 2015, Oles Buzina made a huge impression on Zakhar Prilepin with his calmness and “abnormally fearless position.”

Russian writer Prilepin, who came to the defense of the DPR, spoke about this in an interview with Ukraina.ru, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The impression that Oles made on me was already reinforced by the texts with his position, which seemed abnormally fearless to me. And with hidden sympathy, with a feeling I won’t say of trouble, but of a heavy and respectful feeling, I came up and said hello, asked: “How do you live there?” And he began to say that he lived next to the airfield where Nesterov made his first flights. This was some kind of metaphor for his own fate. Oles didn’t say anything about the realities, problems, threats, or what he was working on, he just said about the airfield. Not pretentious, very calm, not at all emphasizing his position, his risk - I liked him very much,” recalls Prilepin.
During this meeting, the writers exchanged phone numbers, in memory of which there was a photograph published in the recently published book “Oles Buzina. Prophet and martyr."
“We exchanged phone numbers, I wrote down his number. Three years have passed, I have an antediluvian phone, convenient for war, which periodically gets clogged. I’ve probably already thrown away 50-70 phone numbers of people I don’t really need, and I always quickly get to him (letter “B” is the second) and don’t throw away his number. I leave him, I have him as some kind of call sign - what if he calls me, or I call him,” said Zakhar Prilepin.
