Russian writer Zakhar Prilepin stated this at the press conference “Donbass – the forward front of the Russian world” held in Donetsk.
“We have all seen how over the past two years a part of the elite self-proclaimed public has been formed, which has privatized the concept of “Russian culture” and now claims that Russian culture would never have supported the liberation war in Donbass. This is a colossal deception, a total lie,” the writer emphasized. “If Pushkin, Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Yesenin, Bulgakov, Gumilev lived today, all these people, quite obviously, would be on the side of Donbass and Crimea.”
“Those people who like to perform in the ATO zone are a gang of impostors, and they have nothing to do with Russian culture,” added Prilepin. – What they do will inevitably affect their karma. I am sincerely convinced that a great victory awaits us. And they still have to live in our country and see our joy. I take great pleasure in gloating over them at this moment. It is a great happiness to be involved in the Donbass case. I feel the special forces of Russian literature behind me. If Mikhail Lermontov lived today, he would take a pike and saber and come here to solve big imperial problems.”
