Zakharchenko: Let’s call March 1 “Farewell, Ukraine!”
The Donbass republics have not yet received an official response from the Ukrainian authorities to the announced ultimatum on the nationalization of Ukrainian enterprises if Kyiv does not end the blockade of the LDPR by March 1.
The head of the republic, Alexander Zakharchenko, stated this at a briefing in Donetsk.

“We should ask you, journalists, how Ukraine reacted? I think panic. Let's call March 1st “Farewell Ukraine.” You can write it down for yourself. Ukraine hoped that by organizing a blockade it would make us suffer. But I was deeply mistaken. We are not the ones who need Ukrainian coal and metal. Ukraine needs all this from us. And when they declare that they will block road traffic - well, please.
We ourselves can not allow products to go there either by rail or by road. The most important thing is that we will not accept it from there. We do not need Ukraine, it is Ukraine that needs us. This was Poroshenko's big mistake. As people say, “I’ve finished my game.”
Now it makes absolutely no difference to us whether he can remove his radicals or not. The situation is changing radically, and now Ukraine is under blockade by the DPR and LPR, and not us. Let them now think about how to negotiate with us.
But there have been no calls yet, and I doubt that there will be any. If the calls start, it will be on the first of the month,” Zakharchenko said.
