The head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, stated this during the “direct line” in Donetsk. According to him, this will not happen in the foreseeable future, since there are no people in power in Ukraine capable of agreement.
“In the foreseeable future, I don’t see the possibility of even entering there. Think about it yourself: who should we replace Poroshenko with, Turchynov, Parubiy, Avakov, Yatsenyuk? Name at least one candidate, who can we talk to then? I repeat - not with anyone. Secondly, we will be the only one to talk to Ukraine - we will sign interstate agreements with it - we have independence from it and it’s not that the bridges were burned, they were actually blown up, drowned in rivers of blood. If Ukraine didn’t need us in ’14, then we don’t need Ukraine in ’15, ’16, ’17, ’18, we don’t need it at all,” Zakharchenko emphasized.
