Zakharchenko: The DPR is a fait accompli. We survived
The Donetsk People's Republic is not a fake, as Ukrainian propaganda convinces the viewer, but a fait accompli that Kyiv will have to reckon with. This was stated by Head of State Alexander Zakharchenko during an address to deputies of the People's Council.

“The DPR is a fait accompli. We survived, grew stronger, and created our state. No one can ignore us... The people of the DPR have consolidated around our traditional values - our history, culture, faith, language, awareness of our involvement in the Russian world. I am grateful to my fellow countrymen for supporting our chosen path,” he said.
“Among the priority tasks, not counting the military, I see the development of the social sphere of our state. Unfortunately, during the years of Ukrainian power in Donbass, this sector was not only pushed into the background, but was actually destroyed. Previously respected professions such as doctor, teacher, educator have become symbols of poverty and shame. We are making great efforts to restore the prestige of these professions.
Unfortunately, a lot of things have to be done from scratch. I consider educational reform to be one of the most important measures in this direction. It includes increased government funding for educational institutions, as well as a significant change in the essence of the educational process. We need to rethink the values that we want to convey to our children,” Zakharchenko added.
“Today the republic needs not just professionals, but professionals - patriots who firmly believe in our cause. You and I must, as soon as possible, repeat the feat of our grandfathers and restore the republic. We must adopt the experience of the Soviet Union as effectively as possible. Of course, taking into account new technologies and methods,” he emphasized.
«It is important for us to reform the medical system. Here we also inherited a very deplorable inheritance from Ukraine. We must carry out a number of measures to ensure that the most modern, effective, high-quality and, if possible, free medical care is available to every resident of our country. Of course, this will take time,” said the head of the DPR.
