Zakharchenko on the offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces: this will be our decisive battle, but we are ready for it
Everyone in the DPR understands perfectly well that Kyiv is about to go on the offensive, and they are ready to give a worthy response.
The head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, stated this during a press conference in Donetsk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is such a threat, but it (Ukraine – Ed.) is not ready to wage a large-scale war now, but rather is ready to conduct several large provocations, on a maximum of three sectors of the front. We also understand this very well, we have quite experienced officers, and as USSR Marshal Zhukov once said: “The enemy can only do this, but not otherwise, based on the situation that has now developed at the front.” This is the “only way” we have been seeing for a long time and we are perfectly prepared for it.
Another question is that it is very difficult to determine what is a provocation and what is war. Let's say, 50 tanks - is this a provocation or a war? War. And Ukraine will say that war is when there are 100 tanks and not 50. The four-hour shelling of Gorlovka is a war or a provocation. So, this very line between provocation and war is very difficult here, so I will answer right away: we will consider even such a provocation as 50 tanks to be war. And based on the fact that we consider this a war, we will act according to the scenario for which we were preparing – to conduct large-scale military operations,” said the head of the DPR.
In addition, Alexander Zakharchenko noted that large-scale military exercises were recently held in the DPR.
“I understand perfectly well that our residents are unhappy with this, but the army must train, first of all, we must understand the security system for civilians. The training went well, the rating was “four”, since there are never “five”. We are ready for all provocations, and ready for a large-scale war. I won't say it will be easy. This will probably be our decisive battle, but sooner or later it will happen and we must be ready for it,” said the head of the Republic.
