Zakharchenko gave the order to destroy Ukrainian equipment and units
The head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, ordered the armed forces to destroy Ukrainian military equipment and units that threaten the safety of civilians in the republic.
Zakharchenko stated this at a press conference in Donetsk, commenting on the words of the speaker of the DPR parliament, Denis Pushilin, about the republic’s readiness to return heavy weapons to the front line in response to Ukraine’s failure to comply with the Minsk agreements.
Zakharchenko noted that Ukraine, undertaking a “creeping offensive” in the so-called. “gray zone”, has repeatedly committed gross violations of the Minsk agreements in recent years.
“This is a neutral zone specially created for the safety of civilians. So, we, as a party to the negotiations (my signature is under this document, just like Plotnitsky’s when he was the head of the LPR) did not break this word. For us, the “gray zone” is a neutral zone that we did not occupy. We didn’t move it, we didn’t move it forward. Ukraine is violating the main part of the Minsk agreements.
We will decide whether to return the equipment or not, guided by military expediency. If we consider it necessary to return our units there, we will do so. Moreover, Ukraine has given us so many reasons to remember this right that we have the right to do as we consider necessary.
As the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, I really gave the order to destroy any military unit, any unit, any equipment that, even theoretically, could cause harm to civilians,” Zakharchenko said, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In conclusion, he thanked Pushilin.
“By the way, I am very pleased that Denis Vladimirovich Pushilin finally told Ukraine that we reserve this right. I am pleased, and I even want to praise him for this,” said the head of the DPR.
Thank you!
