“I would like to inform everyone that I am not leaving anywhere, and continue to serve as Prime Minister of the Donetsk People’s Republic,” Zakharchenko commented on the rumors about his resignation.
“I recently gave an interview where the following was said: we will not give up the fight and will never come to terms with the current borders of our republic. To admit that we are abandoning territories occupied by Ukrainian troops means betraying our people and those who were with me in this struggle. These words were taken as the basis for the disinformation fabricated today,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
Answering questions from journalists regarding the postponement of the election date, Alexander Zakharchenko noted: “It was decided to move the date a little, because there are a lot of people who want to register, and we decided to give everyone the opportunity to register.”
When asked by journalists who he considers his competitor in the upcoming elections, Zakharchenko replied: “Кevery candidate has a chance and healthy competition“, of course, we will have it, because all the candidates are very famous, authoritative and worthy people,” he said.
