Zakharchenko proposed introducing the death penalty for corruption in the DPR
DPR leader Alexander Zakharchenko announced the need to introduce capital punishment for corruption. He made this statement in the Donetsk Format program.

“...In the near future I am going to do something - I will tighten the laws that relate to corruption... You know well that we have a decree on the use of the death penalty as the highest measure of justice. And, I think, corruption will fall under this definition. Depending on the harm caused to society, corruption will be punished under martial law by deprivation of life. I have already held a number of negotiations with the People's Council and received full understanding. We only disagreed on some of the nuances and wording of the law, but this is a technical issue, we must resolve them,” Zakharchenko said, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Without a doubt, corruption is a disease of any society. There is no specific drug for this disease. Everyone has their own approaches to eradication; in the DPR the issue is posed very strictly. At a certain moment, I decided that, regardless of ranks and services to the Fatherland, those found guilty of corruption should be judged and imprisoned,” the head of the DPR emphasized.
