Zakharchenko was killed to disrupt the presidential elections in Ukraine
The death of the head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, is beneficial to the Kyiv authorities, who need to do their best to postpone the presidential elections.
Ex-People's Deputy of Ukraine Vladimir Oleynik spoke about this in the studio of the NTV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It is always necessary to answer one question: “Who benefits from this?” I am far from saying that the main goal is to disrupt the Minsk agreements. Now the most important task, and this is all happening only with Poroshenko’s blessing, is to postpone the presidential elections. He's losing. And if tensions rise there, even without war, he will introduce a state of emergency or martial law,” Oleynik noted.
“He needs war, the Ukrainian people do not. If they only use those still combat-ready units of the Ukrainian army, they will regret it later,” he said.
