Zakharchenko: Ukraine will have to leave the entire Donbass and pay compensation
After the change of power in Ukraine, Donbass expects to hold negotiations on the liberation of the entire territory of the former Donetsk and Lugansk regions, as well as payment of compensation from Kyiv and the EU for the destruction caused by shelling by the Ukrainian army.
The head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, stated this on Tsargrad TV.

“We are going to the following things - to the border of the DPR, to the territory where the referendum was held, the border that they take control of - this will be the border of the Donetsk region, the former, and the Kharkov, Zaporozhye, Dnepropetrovsk regions, with which we border. And we are talking with them about good neighborly relations, the norms of living together, which will be prescribed and taken into account.
Then we will demand compensation for the destroyed Donbass, and we can officially demand this not only from Kyiv, but also from Merkel - she also announced that she would allocate 500 million euros for restoration.
If this happens, hypothetically, it will be the biggest holiday in my life and thousands of my other fellow countrymen,” Zakharchenko said.
At the same time, the head of the DPR clarified that this scenario is fantastic as long as the current leadership is in power in Kyiv: “If we are talking about the current government of Poroshenko and his clique, then yes, this is impossible. But if we talk with another government of Ukraine - I won’t name names, but there are actually a lot of people there who want to break through to power, then it’s more realistic that this will happen.”
