Permission to cross the Russian border for the blacklisted US Deputy Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland, who was going to visit Moscow on a working visit, was given on a parity basis with Washington.
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are once again making a gesture of goodwill. That is, despite the fact that Nuland is on the sanctions list, we are nevertheless ready to listen to her,” said journalist and TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov.
“It was their desire, she was indeed on the sanctions list, this presupposes that a person cannot cross the border. They included Russian international representatives in their sanctions lists, so in this case this issue was resolved on an equal footing. Yes, she will be in the Russian Federation,” Zakharova replied.
