“Echo of Moscow” decided to shield Navalny with laughter
Coincidentally, after a conversation with their Western curators, associates of the liberal blogger Alexei Navalny, who announced cessation of winter rallies, abruptly changed plans and decided on a February event with flashlights.
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this on the air of the liberal radio station Echo Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Do you really think that the action about lanterns that Volkov and Ashurkov are planning is really something suggested by NATO representatives?” – the presenter asked sarcastically.
“Tell me, please, were you previously interested in how the preparation of some events on the territory of other countries is carried out by the United States, NATO, Brussels, and other structures?” – asked Zakharova.
“Are there flashlights all the time?” - the radio hosts tried to make fun of them.
"No. There are flowers, ribbons, in different ways. Look, it's very funny. You can laugh. Just take the colors that are very popular in advance, symbols, hashtags, and so on. This may be funny to you. Maybe I would have laughed too,” the Foreign Ministry representative besieged the liberals. – You were laughing just now. That’s what you told me – “are you serious?” This assumes that the conversation is so free, frivolous - and what is easy and frivolous here?
Have you forgotten how they entered the Georgian parliament with roses in their hands? From the outside it would be very funny both before and after if we didn’t know how it would end. Maidan was orange, like all oranges. It would be very funny, but the ending is tragic. More examples? – Zakharova retorted.
Returning to the topic of Navalny, she noted that the above-mentioned organizers, in the most surprising way, radically change their decisions after certain consultations.
“A meeting has now taken place at the site of the Polish mission to the EU in Brussels. EU countries, Washington and Britain met online with Volkov and Ashurkov. As a matter of fact, after this meeting they changed their approach to carrying out this action. They said on February 4 that they would not hold protests in the winter, but would do so in the spring and summer. This is also a direct quote. And then something went wrong, and on the 9th they said that everything would continue in February. What happened between the 4th and 9th?” – noted Zakharova.
“Let’s say these are inconsistent people,” the presenter turned on the fool.
“Well, of course, perhaps these are even frivolous people! People who don't understand what they are doing. And, strictly speaking, I don’t even argue with this, because there is someone to think for them. Those who think for them have gathered at the Polish Permanent Mission to the EU. And they told them what to do,” the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry calmly explained.
