Zakharova accused Kyiv of preparing a springboard for aggression in Donbass
The Ukrainian side actually does not even hide its aggressive intentions towards the Donbass republics.
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
She emphasized that the “appearance of work” of the Ukrainian side in the contact group indicates Kyiv’s unpreparedness to resolve the conflict through political and diplomatic means.
“Before she had time to begin fulfilling her duties in the Ukrainian delegation in the contact group, Deputy Prime Minister, newly appointed Minister of Reintegration Irina Vereshchuk had already indicated that the Minsk agreements for Ukraine are not a road map for resolving the conflict in Donbass.
And her predecessor, now the head of the defense department Alexey Reznikov, actually said something surprising: he said that these agreements are “not a springboard for peace.” This is a catchphrase that the official representatives of Kyiv used to describe themselves,” Zakharova said.
She recalled that a bridgehead is a territory used in preparation for an invasion of enemy territory as a base for the concentration of armed forces.
“When Ukrainian representatives in the contact group, officials, talk about “a springboard for peace,” then their true interpretation of the word “peace” and their true goals and objectives are clear. As they say, a Freudian slip,” emphasized the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
